The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Joseph Rizzi can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Big brothers

My father employed many young men at his gas station over the years.  All of these young men were not just employees.  My dad would take them under his wing, counsel them, install a strong work ethic in them, instruct them in the automotive field, listen to their dreams & advise them, show them how to be outstanding & responsible men while still enjoying life filled with passion.  Unwittingly, my dad was a mentor, a sage who many people revered.  While the gas station was a "stepping stone" in life, lessons learned there and laughter had there would resound for decades to come.  My brother and I loved baseball while growing up!  Our father believed it was sort of boring.  So as many young boys have done and will continue to do, we would constantly badger dad with; "Can you take us to the Phillies game?", often times he would respond "I'll have one of the guys take you."  WOOHOO!  He caved in to our request!  Now dad would provide plenty of funds for one of the "guys" to take us to the Phillies game, supply us with food and trinkets and still have money to take their girlfriends out on dates after we were returned home.  Dad would allow them to go home early to change, pick-up their sweethearts, grab us and head to the game while still on the clock!  Dad bribed them (er, paid them) to get us out of his hair!  LOL!  Tony and I always looked up to these "guys"!  Afterall, we were little kids while they were young men.  These "guys" were now family!  Even after they moved on in life, they would swing by to say hello, especially around Christmas - as family usually does!  Looking back, these "guys" were actually our BIG BROTHERS!  Thank you - all of you!  Love Tony and Joey!
