Obituary for Helen M. Staffieri

Staffieri
Helen M. (nee Giarrocco) died peacefully on February 8, 2018 at age 93 after a short illness. Formerly of St. Mary of the Eternal Parish, she lived for many years in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia. She is the widow of the late Dominick Staffieri, mother of Nicholas J. Staffieri, Esquire, and Antoinette Schnitzius (Jack) and grandmother of Frederick. She is the sister of Carmela Olimpo, Carol Etheredge, and the late Jacqueline Antonelli and Anthony, Joseph, and John Giarrocco. Mrs. Staffieri served as secretary, office manager and corporate secretary for various companies in a career that extended over 60 years. After her retirement at age 78 she performed volunteer office work at Chestnut Hill Hospital. She was proud of her efforts to promote good government causes and to support women’s rights. Relatives and friends are invited to attend this remarkable woman’s viewing and funeral on TUESDAY Morning from 10:00 to 11:00 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E. Cathedral Rd., Phila. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in Mrs. Staffieri’s memory may be made to John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School, Financial Aid fund, 311 N. 19th St., Phila., PA 19103.
