Obituary for John Walter McKinney

John Walter McKinney
John Walter McKinney, aged 61, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on November 6, 1956 in Trenton, NJ to John and Mamie (Greene) McKinney. On May 29, 1983, he married Maryann Gager, together they had six children.

In 1976, John began his lifelong career of truck driving and hauling materials, which he did for thirty-two years. John was a unique, exasperating, and opinionated man with a big heart who cared deeply. Some of his favorite times were spent camping with his family, watching his children play outdoors, and riding motorcycles with friends. He was a proud member of FUGARWE MC.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Maryann (Gager) McKinney; daughter Marybeth; son John (Jennifer); daughters Katie, Kayla, and Janiya; son Julian; two grandchildren Sadie McKinney and Khloe Williams; parents John and Mamie (Greene) McKinney; sisters Barbara (Robert) Urban; Brenda (Jack) Peternich; Edna (Kevin) Ridley; mother-in-law Rickey Gager; brother-in-law Robert (Geraldine) Gager; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and countless friends that were like family.

John requested an informal celebration of his life, which will take place at the VFW in Medford, NJ. There will also be a motorcycle procession to Pic-A-Lilli Inn in Shamong, NJ.
